It must be my turn now!

Thank goodness for our local park, it's so near and the kids love having a good run around and taking turns on the swings. The older ones always seem to love helping the younger ones which is most definitely to be encouraged!

School run in the rain!

Well improvisation is the name of the game as a childminder and when we had a sudden rain storm just as we had to go out on the school run, one of the little ones didn't have any rain gear. So he wore mine and looked like a little Ewok-hilarious but at least he kept dry. I won't tell you how wet I got!!!! If you've ever tried you'll know it's almost impossible to hold a brolly and push a pram at the same time. Oh well, at least school is only a 5-10 minute walk, or 30 depending on how many interesting things there are to stop and look at on the way!!

Children soup!

How many kids can you get into a paddling pool? As many as you like!!! They love it and what a perfect way to cool my feet too when we have a heatwave. We come home from school as quickly as possible and have a picnic in the garden and get splashing, fantastic fun. The only problem is finding all the clothes after they've been chucked off all over the garden!

Musical fun at school!

All the children love seeing each other at pick up time at Furzedown Primary School. Luckily the playground is really accessible for the little ones too and they all enjoy playing the giant xylophone together and having a good run around before heading home or to the park for snacks.

Lovely messy fun!

Finger painting is a great way to let the children explore how messy they can be! I like to use sparkly paints so they can see different textures and we also use rollers, potatoes to print with and even leaves or pine cones which make fantastic patterns.

Day out at Crystal Palace

We went on a dinosaur hunt with my NCT group during the holidays and a fun day was had by all...not to mention a little romance between these two who held hands almost all day!!! Despite the rain at one point; we managed to run for cover under the trees amid great hilarity trying to collect up all the various children, picnic food and prams; a fantastic and stimulating day out. Guess what- they all fell asleep in the car on the way home!

Cornflour and red colouring

My oldest girl and the little boy I look after 4 days a week both love the feel of cornflour and water. It's lovely and gloopy and great fun mixing the food dye in and watching the colour change!

Homemade Pizza!

We love making our own pizza dough! It's great for the after school kids who can customize their own, even if you are dairy free! Yummy

Ringa-ringa-rosies

Holding hands for ringa ringa rosies on the way home from school is fun and the younger children adore watching the older ones!
